Welcome
Welcome to the UCLA Reaccreditation Web site. Here you will find UCLA's plans and progress toward reaccreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), our regional accreditation agency.
Accreditation indicates that UCLA meets rigorous standards of quality, capacity, and effectiveness. In addition, the accreditation process provides an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments, challenges, and future directions. Only accredited institutions can administer federal financial aid.
UCLA is proud to have been accredited by WASC since March 6, 1949. Under the new WASC standards adopted five years ago, the reaccreditation process at UCLA continues for four years (2006-2009) and includes both self-assessments and external assessments by two visiting teams.
Please take a few minutes to review this site and to learn more about UCLA’s plans for WASC reaccreditation. We will add other information to the site as it becomes available. Many members of our campus community, including faculty, students and administrators, will participate in accreditation workgroups to prepare reports and meet with external review teams or contribute analyses, information and ideas.
We appreciate your participation in this important quality-assurance and self-improvement process.
